BLF Press Newsletter - February-2018

Greetings!

We are counting down to the release of Krystal A. Smith's debut collection of speculative fiction, Two Moonson March 20th and we couldn't be more thrilled that it received a starred review from Booklist! Here's an excerpt:

"In all, Smith writes with raw emotion in powerful, voice-driven prose. Reading Smith is like wandering between dreams; her stunning, fantastical worlds play by their own rules, challenging the imagination and encouraging deep feeling."

We are honored and humbled that our work is being recognized by the Golden Crown Literary Society.

BLF Press Newsletter-April 2017

Greetings!

Today, April 5, 2017, marks the one-year anniversary of BLF Press's first release, Lez Talk: A Collection of Black Lesbian Short Fiction.  So much has happened with Lez Talk over the past year, including profiles on the Ms. Magazine blogHuffington Post, and meeting so many of you while we were on tour with the book.

When I started BLF Press in 2014, I wasn't sure what direction our work would take, I just knew that I wanted to create a space where Black lesbian and queer voices would be honored, and it was my good fortune that our first title was a cacophony of Black lesbian literary voices. Since then, we've published another anthology, as well as my collection of short stories, and we've got more exciting work on the horizon.

BLF Press Newsletter-March 2017

Greetings!

It's the Ides of March, and I'd hoped that today might be the beginning of the end for the current political administration. It isn't, at least not so far, so we'll just keep doing what we always do: supporting and amplifying the literary work of women of color. With that in mind, we're offering a 20% discount on your entire purchase for the rest of Women's History Month. Just enter WHM2017 at checkout. .
